The Garmin unit I have has a large vehicle setting. was a special unit for RV's It is factory set for 57Ft long and 12.8 high. -
That's cool but not neccesarily helpful. Many many people have gone under low bridges with truck GPSes.
But I don't usually use my GPS to tell me how to get anywhere. I use it to guide me along a route I already selected. It tells me the names of roads even if street signs have been stolen, etc, and can make confusing junctions easy. -
Makes telling night weekend, third string replacement, bench warmer, subustitute dispatch jerks trying to get the bosses job that, "Yes, I will deliver on time, so go pound sand!" real easy.

I have the navigation that verizon offers with their phones, and it is good. Can't talk on the phone while using it and it has screwed me a couple times. You learn to look ahead at the steps and you can usually tell if it has the correct route.
