Got home today, will be off for 8 days. Leaving Wednesday to go visit my newest granddaughter in Texas (#9). Wife wants to swing through New Orleans on the way and spend the night in the French quarter. Happy wife happy life.
When I get back I will probably stay out until thanksgiving, gotta pick up the pace the last couple months so I can get my plates and permits covered by FCC. Usually I run over 150K miles a year consistently, but will barely get 120K this year. That’s mainly been my choice, the move to Florida caused me to take extended time off, and now that the truck is paid off I don’t necessarily want to run so hard. -
Try Pêche Seafood Grill when you are in NO. Amazing food.MidWest_MacDaddy, runningman0661 and IH9300SBA Thank this.

Running 65 makes it so the 67mph trucks have to get around you for the most part. I’ll knock the cruise down a couple so they can get around me quicker if there’s traffic.
IH9300SBA Thanks this. -
i’m not that nice most of the time. I’ve sped up a couple times because some JB Hunt or CR England driver thinks they’re hot #### since their truck does 65 1/2
IH9300SBA Thanks this. -
I like you Chris, and this isn’t me being ####ty to you, at least I hope not, but there’s a lot of trucking experience between these 2 quotes.IH9300SBA, MidWest_MacDaddy and ElmerFudpucker Thank this.

unfortunately courtesy and common sense on the roads got dragged out behind the barn and shot before i got my CDL. I’ve learned that trying to be nice and courteous while driving gets you absolutely nowhere 99% of the time, so why bother?hope not dumb twucker, Long FLD and motocross25 Thank this.

I cruise at 68 unless I am in a hurry and go 70 but my truck can go 75 in case I need to pass

No dude you’re right. Hell you’re absolutely right. And I wasn’t making a dig at your driving style or anything. But that’s what I mean that’s not how it used to be, so @Long FLD drives how it used to be. You didn’t come up when it was like that, and that’s no fault of yours. It’s like being in Dallas in rush hour. All these trucks are right on the car in front of them, go 7 mph and stop. Go 7 mph, slam on the brakes and stop. Driven like a true automatic. Then you see the stretched out bull rack in the same traffic in LL creeping and never touching his brakes. Those guys stopping and going have never driven a manual and probably aren’t even endorsed for it as far as that goes. No one is necessarily more right or wrong, just a different way of doing things from when the driver was brought up when he started driving.dwells40, cdavis188 and drvrtech77 Thank this.
