I read the article. It mentioned no manual safety, like 80% of DAO carry guns are.
Yeah, it didn't go off on it's own. I'll stick with my Springfields, they haven't tried to shoot me.Deere hunter, Oxbow and Crude Truckin' Thank this. -
Reminds me of the story of the guys dog shoot him…
FearTheCorn, mjd4277, Deere hunter and 1 other person Thank this. -
I'm not overly knowledgable about handguns but why would you keep a round in the pipe? Just seems like a bad idea because of this reason.
Big Road Skateboard Thanks this. -
That’s to eliminate the time it takes to chamber one when being attacked.
1911s are often carried “####ed and locked”, that is, hammer back and safety on.
With a Sig P226 like mine you chamber one and then hit the decocker. That gives your first shot a heavier trigger pull for safety reasons. A P320 on the other hand is striker fired like a Glock. Barring some internal defect with the one particular gun cited in the article I don’t see how what happened here is possible.RockinChair, Deere hunter, Oxbow and 6 others Thank this. -
I carry my Heiser Defense PKO45 with an empty chamber. Personal preference. But in practice, I can chamber one pretty quick.
Deere hunter and Oxbow Thank this. -
To be able to react with little time. And it is a two handed job, so if someone has a hold of your arm you are defending yourself with a paperweight..... at best
thats like not wearing a seatbelt, saying you can connect it during a wreck.....
RockinChair, Deere hunter, Crude Truckin' and 3 others Thank this.
