Happy Thanksgiving. I called the courthouse. Nobody answered because of the holidays. In Oregon, I guess you can’t pay the ticket online. You have to send a money order or check and how you plead to the ticket.
Since I’m an OTR trucker, it might make sense to send a letter with the money order and pleasd not guilty and they will use that letter as my sworn testimony because I’m OTR I won’t need to go to the courthouse. What do you guys think?
or since cat agreed to pay for the ticket, just please and I’ll contest and send the money and get her over it

What about your drug charge? Did you get that dismissed?

No moral qualms in the path you suggest?D.Tibbitt, TripleSix, Big Road Skateboard and 2 others Thank this.

Since CAT agreed to reimburse you, I would consider that a win. Pay the fine, cash your check and call it a day. The overweight will still be on your record but it's not a moving violation so nothing to really worry about.D.Tibbitt, TripleSix, Big Road Skateboard and 4 others Thank this.

Makes sense. Scarface is fictional too.

It’s a NON MOVING VIOLATION. They don’t hurt your driving record like moving violations, such as speeding, improper lane changes, and stuff. That’s why everyone who actually drives a truck is telling you to just pay the fine learn from your mistake and be done. You sure as hell don’t take that idiotic bonehead advice about requesting a trial for a non moving violation …that would be the most moronic thing you could do.
I just recommended calling the courthouse to see if they would reduce it because I have had the judge answer the phone and do exactly that. But if it can’t be done, go ahead and pay the fine and keep the receipt in your records.
