    When St. Helen's blew I was riding with dad and we were in Arizona, on the way home dad started tying wet towels, blankets, clothes, over the air intake, to try and minimize damage, it was Utah he started doing that, then finally got home, shoveled the ash off the roof, it sucked.

    I don't know about over @okiedokie direction but in dayton,WA you dig a hole more than a couple feet you hit an ash layer still.

    Ash settled in Central Oregon, a few inches. Still got a jar of it somewhere. Hiked to the top of Bachelor to observe the eruption. Way to close!

    Wow, I believe you are the first that I know of who actually saw it! We ended up with nearly 3 inches of ash in the Priest River area in Northern Idaho.

    The OM is UP!!!!!!

    Currently 41F in BEAVER LAS VEGAS!!!!!

    The main engine was run several times to avoid FREEZING TO DEATH AND DIEING.
