About to go active on my authority. Will it be hard to sign up with brokers and work with them since my company is brand new?

should I lease on while my company is active and gets older?

Superior, not sure if that is their entire name, it likely is not, is a company that hired my uncle when his authority was new right out of the gate. He does hotshot. He still gets work from them now over a year and a half later but he does say they don't pay well. TQL, that is another one, but they will harass the heck out of you while you're on their loads and usually they have plenty of latitude on their rate. I hear the complaining almost every time I talk to my uncle though that he wishes he hadn't started his own authority and wants to let it go.

Starting fresh with your own authority can be tough since most brokers wanna see you’ve been rollin at least 30-90 days, sometimes longer. Leasing onto a big outfit at first gets you freight hookups, insurance, and some backing while your authority gets some miles on it. Keep it clean, play by the rules, and build a good rep so the loads start rollin in steady

Sometimes it takes longer than even 90 days with some Brokers wanting 6 mth or 1 full year for their contract freight to be moved. Lately, a lot of brokers calling me want a fleet of trucks so I'm working with different Dispatching companies as well. The spot market is only getting more and more difficult because of capacity. And even on these forums a good majority support brokers over carriers in regards carriers should be content and satisfied over their lower end bid for rates. Seems like you have to watch when you think logically, or you'll be ostracized for common sense thinking from warped justification & perception on being gyped for something you can't possibly assume regarding the true authentic shipping rate cons shippers average on. Seems like chaos at its best only benefiting freight brokers. Welcome to chaos.!
