I see Western Express is still trying to get drivers with little or no experience to be trainers.
I was barely 6-7 months in when they asked me to be a trainer! I told them no-I needed my space (especially in a Volvo), my sanity and most importantly-my life!!

I'm pretty sure I saw one with his nose pressed up against the window of a local KFC. He said he couldn't afford anything as fancy as KFC since he was a Western Express trainee but he "shore did miss dining at the Colonel's!"

 

Even working there McDonald’s was an expensive proposition at times,unless you knew how to work the Dollar Menu (or had a bunch of gift cards)!

With 6 months experience you would be better off joining a company like Marten which requires 6 months experience. The pay will be about the same as training with Western, yet a lot more enjoyment than living in a truck with a random stranger off the street.

 

Being a trainer for Swifty would be fun. Or Safety. That would be really fun. They give you an Adidas track suit and some some flip flops. At Prime I don't think you have to have shoes at all.

 

Lmao 6 to 7 months in? Jesus Christ man. Talk throwing #### against a wall and hpojbg for it to stick! You ain't lying about the Volvo space. One of our drivers has a pit riding with him. That poor dog....lol
