Forgot to mention I've worked for several different carriers, only been with 1 for a long period, rest i didnt stay with long,
Maybe 3 to 8 months usually something drastic has popped up that made me leave. Still love trucking, problem is I can't find the right carrier to work for given most of em take advantage or lie on the get go then the truth comes out later
Beware of WEL companies

Oakley is a tank job in Florida. Try them?
TB John and bryan21384 Thank this. -
I'd look at Heyl. They cover a lot of the US and Canada . I more look at operating area than cpm. It's in line with what the market is for long haul reefer. If tanker is what you want, you'll have to take what you can get in Florida and make it work. You got the aforementioned Oakley, Bynum is down there too I thinkLast edited: Feb 28, 2025

like I said, been with a lot of the Florida carriers/ones with terminals there Oakley is already a no
Only big tanker ones I've seen going in Florida I haven't been with or tried are KAG,
Heyl immediately declined, every time I try a mega they just bounce my application, only ones that haven't are Swift, Prime, JB and DBSchenker
Even knight bounced it
Xpo and Bar Nunn were gonna allow me but xpo wasn't a good time to sign on because my old co driver isn't looking to move jobs and Barr Nunn took too long on their hiring process
I'm like extremely lost between finding something that's gonna work until I can move on to a better company and not wasting more time driving for a company that isn't gonna pay, the last year of driving has been a total waste -
Is that all they do for you though, or does the attorney follow through if the company doesn't pay you?
Most any company with a guarantee, you won't see any of that the week you come out of the house or the week you go home, I think. I know K&B is that way at least. So, if you wanted guarantee and you only went out for 3 weeks at a time, you'd get one week of guarantee, if you're lucky. But if they dock you for stuff that is out of your control like their poor planning, weather, traffic, then I don't blame you for not wanting to be there. But, sounds like its slim pickins where you are.bryan21384 Thanks this. -
Paying and better are not the same always for example pay can be great but you so much blink wrong you are screwed and out the door. People need understand this fundamentally. Plenty of companies pay well but mistreat drivers and the turn rates are still much lower when a company pays less under the same situation. Because many will agree that money speaks its why many will take the abuse of bad companies even if the pay is great. My best job I actually loved best out of all them pay sucked badly but ultimately pay is x and bills were y I chose money over enjoyment and sometimes you gotta make those tough choices.
bryan21384 Thanks this. -
You're not lost. Swift, Prime, JB Hunt, and DB Schenker are options. You're looking for a perfect company. A company is only as good as what you put into it. Pick one of them. They're all good options because these companies are pretty much the same.Lonesome, Long FLD and FullMetalJacket Thank this.

Man...at least you give them a few hours. Payroll mistakes shouldn't happen this frequently.Sapphire_Glitter and Lonesome Thank this.

How often have you been late? You don't get that many chances before a company moves you down the ladder.Sapphire_Glitter and Lonesome Thank this.

I'm shocked you can't get 1000 per week out here. Even in a downturn, you don't have to work that hard to get 1000 per week. We're talking maybe 2300 to 2500 miles weekly. That's an average performing driver.Sapphire_Glitter, Lonesome and FullMetalJacket Thank this.
