Why not get down under 300 and go back to melton?

I am working on that, but I don't know that Melton will reconsider me if I reapply and I am under 300. I don't know how that works with them. My dad was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes about two years ago and has lost like 138 pounds since. Last month he helped me to see that I am heading towards the same condition as I get older so since last month I have been following the same workout plan and menu as him. I'm already down 4 pounds since I talked to Melton last. It will not be fast progress but it is progress.

I’m sure they would at least give you another look. Once you get down under 300, if you start flat bedding, you’ll lose quite a bit more.

I think tscottme & Rugerfan are probably on to something here.

If you size/shape/gait resembles that of "Fat Albert" (an old Bill Cosby cartoon -- Google it)....then yeah, I can see how trucking carriers would shy away from you.

Lose some more weight. Many flatbed fleets will test you (at their orientation) for a certain level of physical fitness; if you don't pass their tests -- you are sent home.

To get an idea for what you're up against -- watch the following videos....then think about it:

Even if you do dry van duty -- driving a big rig still requires a certain amount of endurance. You need to convince carriers (by your appearance) that you are in fact ready & up for for this challenge.
