I use the Mudflap app and have the Mudflap fuel card as well. I'm really happy with it as a single truck owner operator in Nebraska. No BS to deal with like many of the others.

The main advantage of the Fuel Card over the app is you can just swipe it at the pump, get your fuel and leave which can be a big time saver. The big downside of the card over the app is you have to link it to your bank account which means the fuel is charged directly to your bank account and you get no cash back on your credit card.

Using the app you have to go inside and give them the code to start the pump and then come back inside after to get the receipt which is time consuming, but you can use your credit card to pay (for a 1.9% fee). My credit card gives me 2.5% cash back so i'm still .6% money ahead and I get to float the money for free for the whole month.

no monthly fees. I don't think there's any out of network fee's, but I've never tried to use it out of network. I just use my credit card if I need to buy out of network.

I tried to get the Mudflap fuel card a few months ago and it said they don't offer it to sole proprietors. I just looked again, same thing. It says they can offer me a 'Flex Cash Account' card, which I'm betting is a prefunded thing. Not what I want but I might try it since Mudflap is the best option where I'm running lately.

I used to like TCS but same problem, prefunded. I hate that. Always catches me off guard.

I currently have it, and 1 unique benefit of the card is that I can use it to pay for things outside of fuel such as cat scales, I needed a headlight and didn’t have it, and swiped my Mudflap fleet card and …✅ accepted. After that got to a toll, that would not let me pay later, and I tapped my Mudflap card and …✅ accepted, I’m in a transitional phase of my business getting everything switched out to owner operator and this card seems to have been 1of the best decisions I’ve made, so far

    EXACTLY!!!!!!!

You know you can get an "instant" transfer to TCS from your bank account.

I go on TCS and do a payment request(Zelle).

I go on my bank account on my laptop(it doesnt work on my phone banking app). I click on the request and send the money and it takes like 2 minutes.

Otherwise its usually about 30 minutes from the time I send it from Zelle til TCS funds my card.

Yea 30 minutes is about right, I’m not hanging around though for it to complete I’ll just use mid flap and get back rolling, usually within a couple cents of each other
