Many thanks and appreciation to @Espressolane .
Again, a good example of the network here.
I pulled a tank out west with a fella I met 'Pat' - that I head run with before. Turning off I-40 onto US491 (old 666) in Gallup, he blew a brake chamber, and we managed to get it caged on the side of the road, with the only pair of vice grips we owned together (mine) that got left behind at the mechanic shop in Gallup. Stitched him up and continued.
Bad luck followed, I kept blowing indicator fuses - only the right would work - hazards or left turn immediately blew. We had unloaded, parked a mile up the road and I started tearing stuff apart looking for a short. Something in my mind said 'Turn signal stalk', though replaced with a HIGH QUALITY TRP replacement 5 years ago . . .
Called @sawmill to discuss, paid for part from Peterbilt for pickup - if that failed, limp to @sawmill for repair - after checking he was still healthy enough to be of assistance.
Pat ran behind me as escort car, parked up a mile from our reloads, many phone calls later . . .
@Espressolane met Pat and I at the truck stop, ran us around several parts places and the grocery store, delivered us back, and shot the sheet for a while while I furiously and with foul mouth installed the defective signal. Reloaded in the morning and headed out, collected a brand new Sawmill cap, and a schematic courtesy of his loving and concerned bride.
@Oxbow @tramm01 @Espressolane @sawmill @Ruthless @Rontonio @OLDSKOOLERnWV @wore out @ElmerFudpucker @High Stepper , and many more - although you don't often frequent my part of the country, I'll do the best I can to help out if I can.
Thanks all.cke, CAXPT, singlescrewshaker and 23 others Thank this. -
