I don't know much about Bynum. From what I've heard they're pretty similar to Indian River and I've seen them picking up/delivering at a lot of the same places that Indian River picks up/delivers. I also know they have battery powered APUs. I've heard good and bad about battery APUs. Some say they work fine, some say it doesn't keep the truck cool enough. I've never had one, but as long as you can still idle the truck when it's really really hot, I wouldn't have too much of an issue with it. I do know it would be nice when loading/unloading indoors. Some of those loading bays can get hot in the summer. You can run your AC while getting loaded/unloaded whereas drivers with diesel APUs, or no APU at all, can not.

Yeah, but I talked to a driver there and he said they have a customer that they drop loads at in Fort Pierce, so I can drop a load there, then bobtail home, when coming out, I can go grab an empty there and hit the road so I should be good.

Yeah, the recruiter told me that too, the reason I was getting 43CPM was because of the economy but I was sure that my three points had some dent in it cause at first he said I was gonna get 48CPM, after a few days when they did my background, then he said I was getting 43CPM.

Thanks, "Battery powered APU", that's the first time I've heard about it, I can see the problems that can come from that, especially in the winter.

The problem doesn't really come in the winter. For heat it uses a diesel fired heater and the only electricity used is for the blower motor. I've had diesel fired heaters in trucks without the battery APU pack and they can run all night without draining the batteries. It's just the AC I've heard struggles to keep up with the higher temperatures but diesel APUs are kinda the same way anyway so we're both idling at that point either way.

Oh cool, I thought it was the battery that was the problem, can their trucks idle? Or you don't know.

I have no idea. The recruiter might be able to tell you.

When I go to places that are indoor loads or offloads, I always ask the person in the bay if I can unhook and pull outside while they do their thing. Some don’t allow it, but most of them do. That’s just a tip for you so you’re not sitting inside of a bay roasting unnecessarily when it’s 105 degrees out in the Summer.
