Brake cleaner is one thing that will set my stomach on fire just smelling it. Starting fluid doesn’t really bother me, but brake cleaner kills me. I can eat a Tums and it will help kill the burn…..

 

One more from Lyles stable - he’s off to Texas this week for a meeting. He started it up while I was standing there - blast like a high powered rifle.

 

This is the funniest and one of the most disgusting stories you might read about trucking, well at least today. So last night I was pretty much out of hours when I got back to drop my final trailer and head home, I was tired and despite just being 25 minutes from home I usually just stay in the truck, I have a couple of choices for bobtail parking and one of em I didn't want to go to, because my truck has an oil leak, that parts should be in this weekend to fix once and for all, but I crossed it off the list since I didn't want to drop oil on the tar parking lot. The other one I have never used for a couple reasons, when I was in highschool this particular wayside rest/ boat ramp area has the reputation as being a gay hangout that was known for nefarious things going on, that was thirty years ago and it was all just basically rumors, so I rolled the dice thinking thirty years later they must have cleaned this up by now, so I pulled in at 1:30 am or so and there was two town cops sitting there bs'ing, so I pulled past them and went down by the boat ramp

 

Sorry accidentally hit post reply, so story continues, I pulled down near the Boat ramp since there is a turnaround and it is a dirt lot, and pulled my truck in and went to bed with no incidents to speak of, woke up in the morning and had some chubby chick (I think chick) basically driving circles around my truck, was like ok that's weird, she left when I got out of the truck and I walked down by the river to look at the ramp and just relax, went back to my truck and cooked breakfast, and sat around waking up finishing my Celsius. So I was sitting in the drivers seat for about a 1/2 hour And pulled a little cottage cheese snack.pack out of the refrigerator to top off breakfast and was sitting there eating it, and a minivan pulled up and parked about 4 spots down, I wasn't paying much attention to him was eating and looking at dat load board trying to figure out if people actually haul for this prices and looked over at the minivan, and the guy was just staring at me, I ignored him and looked back after a minute or so and he was still just staring at me, looked at him like WTF and noticed his shoulder was moving around in an obvious motion, realized he was jerking it and Bout threw up, started laughing my ### off and clocked him off out the window and opened up the door and screamed at him I was going to be at his ### if he didn't get the f out of there... Needless to say he sheepishly drove off and got out of there

 

Little bit more about the park, 30 years ago that's basically what it was known for, was crap like that and people just out right exposing themselves to the world when people are down there fishing and trying to enjoy the river. Alot of it was said to be rumours and hear say, but I have used the boat ramp 100 times and never had an issue but the park name is Babcok Park that is the family who donated the land to the state for the wayside rest and boat ramp, we renamed it badcock park in highschool because of what went on down there, figured after thirty years that crap wouldn't go on anymore but it still does... And it will be the last time I use it as night parking...lol

Just west of Rock Springs.

I'm assuming that would need escorts? At least the guy didn't plug the Green River tunnel

 

Pretty sure the Herd bumper just about paid for itself today. Hit a deer at 60 mph. Completely destroyed the deer as it stayed under the truck and trailer the whole way.

 

Gotta get me one of those. New hood for my truck ain't bad, 5600$ from KW. I think the last 379 factory hood I got was around 8k.

Probably over 10k$ now.
