And 4 trailer loads of implements hauled off for resale that would probably make @OLDSKOOLERnWV cry.

Happy birthday Mrs Jim by the way.

It's funny how equipment gets different names in parts of the country. I might be the only one on the ranch that calls a F350 or a Ram3500 a pickup and everyone else calls it a truck but in my mind a truck is a Kenworth or a Peterbilt.

Of course maybe that will change. The ranch is fixing to double in size maybe some of the new people will talk like me

Nothing gets under my skin quicker than calling a pickup a truck. That's like calling a man a woman.

Colors of this one made me think New Holland. Timeline would've been early to mid 80's.

It was disliked enough we went back to sickle bar cutters till 99 when we got the JD 265's

I still use the sickle bar cutters for the ditches and pond bank.

Speaking of sickle bars, that ranch/farm I worked at in high school; the father of the guy I worked for was in his 70s. I was farmed out to go help him pull the sikle bar out of his JD 95H combine and put new sickle sections on it. This meant cutting the old rivets off with a chisel and pounding new rivets to hold the new sickle sections, which also means swinging a single jack - a lot.

That 70 year old man never slowed down with his hammer. I could barely lift my 14 year old arm let alone the hammer after we were about half done. He worked me into the ground, but I by god didn't give up trying.

The later combines use this neat as can be tapered bolt and nut. One them little impact drivers make that easy work so long as you don’t cut your nubbins off
