I have never had the pleasure of driving for Crete/Shaffer (driver history). If I did, I'd have to call ######## on your post. If you claim to have driven a truck so long, why in the eternal blue hell are you driving for a mega carrier? I have friends at Crete and they're very happy with their decision. If I was to go back on the road and Crete would take me, they're on the top of my list. And that's because I have nearly a decade behind the wheel. Sounds to me like you just want to place blame on anyone that isn't you. I worked for SRT and I know they had a bad reputation. But I went there and made the most of it and took EVERYTHING that they could throw. I was there to be paid, not look pretty and ###### sure didn't care if the DMs liked me or not.

You want to cry about the equipment? Let me tell you something. Are you listening? THE UPKEEP OF THE EQUIPMENT IS THE RESPONSIBLITY OF THE DRIVER! It is your responsibility to go over your truck and find the discrepencies. Even in my first job, I caught a leaking hose under the hood and flat out refused to leave the yard until it was repaired and satisfactory. Over my career, I've caught many a nail and other objects in my tires, dealt with many issues big and small with my own two hands and repaired anything I was capable of. The rest was up to the maintenance department or I sat until it was repaired. Oh and my driver manager made them pay me until the repairs were complete. I was either put in a hotel (at company expense) or I was given another truck to continue running revenue.

I want to talk about your loads. In all of that run-on that you posted, not once did you say what your 11/14/70 looked like. What did your hours look like? Did you forget that trucking companies are in it to make money and not babysit you? In the years I drove on an e-log, if dispatch could see where I was going to potentially miss a deadline, I had to give up the load. Yes, it sucked, but I'd rather have that load sent on its way and the company paid before I'd accept a service failure. I even ended up taking resets in some of the most beautiful areas I've ever seen in this great country of ours. Can't say enough about Prosser, WA. Say it with me: COMMUNICATION. And I highly doubt that Crete had you do a local run and only pay you $10. I've shuttled trailers and made more than that. Hell, I moved a harbor trailer for a company in NYC and that company paid me $300 just to parallel park it and back another. And yes, my company knew about it. And if they're "taking good loads" from you, who did you piss off? I've never had that issue but once in my career and I moved around after that. Disagreements happen but you seem to be exaggerating a lot in your post. Also, any accident you have is "reportable". It's just if it was preventable or unpreventable. If you're so sure that Crete is screwing you over with jobs as you say, you can challenge that.

I don't think Crete was trying to destroy you as you're portraying it to us. I think they just tested you and discovered that you're a sad, trouble driver that couldn't hack the job. I was just like you when I first started back when. But I owned it and later went back to thank the company that gave me my start despite how bad my departure was with them. The company in question? Stevens Transport. I came up here and whined too. Everything that happened to me was my fault and mine alone. And guess what? I'd still do it all over again. Maturity is a lot of this industry and you just showed how much you lack just by this post alone. Either way, I hope you have better luck elsewhere.
