Where is everyone #5

I like getting these kind of texts in the morning….

 

The day I came in with a set of flywheels for the Bessemer. Now he’s driving a race car at the local track…

 

It is amazing how kids seem to grow up so fast.
To them it takes forever, for us it's the blink of an eye.

 

That is so much better than the broken English texts I get about how they have high dollar loads out of my area and need all my info to get me in the big money loads they have

 

“Last time I saw you - you were *taps knee with hand* - boy you’ve grown “

Used to hear it as a kid.

Find myself saying the same thing now.

 

Speaking of kids - Gretchen’s ex sister-in -law’s boy (with her 2nd husband) . . . makes him a grand nephew to me by marriage ‍ I guess?
Anyway - we had him for an extended summer vacation. I took him out on the road in the truck. Wasn’t much interested in it, said it was boring. Taught him how to drive and tried to inspire some work ethic into the kid before I finally drove his ### back to Louisiana.

Left his sisters house last night being filmed - on a 4 wheeler bike, flipped off the thing and it rolled on him. Broken collar bone and a slight brain bleed, now some heart rhythm issues.

Hope he recovers ok - we’ve all done stuff that almost could’ve killed us - poor kid drew the short straw on that gamble we all play. 20 years old now - so has youth on his side.
