CRETE SUCKS

I liked Crete. My dispatcher was relaxed and kept me busy. The CEO Tonn was great. I appreciated getting more spare time on my loads then I was getting when driving reefer. They had a lot of drop and hook making things easy.

 

Its like choosing Fords or Chevy's some will like them some won't, think most transport companies are the same, the only difference being the colour of the hood, each of us has different standards what some will put up with others won't, it's like driving to NYC some don't like it, while others have no issues, you can never please all of the people all of the time, only some of the people some of the time, provided they pay on time, have good safe equipment, and have a good service center and regularly service their equipment then there should be no issues. Perhaps what that load scheduler did was wrong, maybe talk with someone higher up about it and hopefully you'll be compensated for all those wasted hours.

 

I was in the industry for a while, and I can say that at a company that size, two drivers can easily have completely opposite experiences. We both know he didn’t quit Crete but was terminated, so it’s natural he feels some animosity, though some of it sounds like the usual experience at a large OTR company.

 

I once did a load for a convention and their was so many trucks getting loads it took a day to get loaded 2.5 days to drive and 2 days to get unloaded. So basically, all week for 1 load. I went all the way up to the VP for expedited services to explain that doing a very profitable contract involving 100 trucks for the company shouldn't put the drivers in the poorhouse. He agreed and said he would look into it and about a month later we got an extra $300 in detention pay. Not great but better than nothing.

 

I work for Crete Carrier for over 4 years and everything that guy said is correct. If you're a good little boy and when they say jump you say how high? Then they will like you and you might get a little bit better treatment but you won't make any more money than if you stand up for yourself like me. I never put up with an ounce of their garbage That's why I'm going to do not hire list. Things will start off really good but little by little they will start stealing money from you and you need to micro analyze every single paycheck because they will take money out and then the money that they steal from you they'll give it back to you as profit sharing meanwhile they stole it from you. They like to mentally defeat you into a pathetic filthy driver that's why Crete drivers always have their windshield packed with garbage and they use it as a storage compartment ever notice? More than any other trucking company because that's how their mind is operating it's a total mess just like their dashboard. And I wasn't fired I quit. They couldn't handle me My asset manager thought he was a smart-### and he didn't realize that he was dealing with an even better smart ### and I drove him crazy to the point where he was almost in tears and had me transferred to a different asset manager. They would never rehire me because they can't control me. When they say jump I say f you you jump.

You're just a crybaby they probably had to babysit you and problem late on loads..... another disgruntled driver crying about Crete expecting you to work.....

 

I was never late even once for a pickup or delivery by anything I've done in my control I can't control accidents overturned trucks and such. Not only did they not have to babysit sit me I was set it and forget it they send me my load and they know it's as good as done so you're way off. I was one of the best drivers I just refused to put up with their garbage so it got bad enough that I quit after they started making me call in to get fuel solutions. I'm not a cry baby you may be a brown nose and I can assure you it won't do you any good because at the end you won't make any more money by being a kiss ### than by standing up for yourself and having pride.

 

I am on the Shaffer side. Yes, Creaffer likes to remind you how to do everything but breathe and wipe yourself, but that's because they have hired so many seat warming steering wheel holders that really have no clue, that the have to. I am a major malcontent who will go off on any cubicle dweller in that office if the need arises. Just last week they felt compelled to call me at 0030 to make sure I was awake and would be rolling soon.(I was 5 hrs from my delivery and had a 9 am appointment). I unloaded on the caller for interrupting my break. I didn't drop just 1 f-bomb, it was more like an f-carpet bomb, and then hung up on his ###. I don't tolerate stupid stuff like that, and I stand up for myself, and they have never been disciplined for it...and this is the 3rd time I have worked for an Acklie company.(The other 2 were for repeated overwhelming equipment problems). Each time I felt the need to come back, it took them all of a couple hours to call and set up the orientation date. Why, because most of my gripes about this company are about the nannying and the fact they aren't running me as hard as I like. (I stay out a while and I want my time away from home to be utilized as close to the max as possible when there is abundant freight). They miss stuff on the pay from time to time, but between Crete and Shaffer, they have around 6000 drivers. Once in a while stuff gets missed. You just have to pay attention to your paystubs, and if something is missing, you call your terminal. I have never had them refuse to pay or reimburse me for something I am owed.

 

Just sounds like you're whining because I've never had issues getting my pay that I earned....im also into my 2nd year with Crete and get all the miles I want...so not sure what you're talking about....sounds like you're talking out your butt....
