Who Needs to Keep a Log Book

    I’m log exempt and turn in a paper one when I run outside the radius, which isn’t very often.

    i remember them days, LTL local. Great job. Run a couple of routes close by, in the morning do Deliveries, afternoon, do pick/ups. come back ,turn in paperwork, punch out.

    open the driver door and look at the sticker on the door jamb. What is the GVWR on the sticker? If it's more than 8,500 lbs in most states, then yes you need an ELD, paper log backup and probably some form of cdl (lower class). Then look at the trailer and see what the GVWR on the sticker on it says.
