And Friday is my last day here. I gave a two week notice though. Not enough pay for me. Definitely less for the year than what was claimed on the website and orientation. I only averaged 2600 miles a week. Was only taking home time once a month or more for 3 days at a time.
Too much sitting for a long haul driver. Too many times waiting 8-20 hours for a delivery appointment. And when you ask for 4 days off for Thanksgiving after not being home for 5-6 weeks, and they give you 7 days off without pay because there are no loads available? I worked through Christmas and ended up having to sit for 48 hours the weekend after Christmas waiting for a delivery appointment. Went home for New years and ended up having the same issue with 40+ hours off waiting for a delivery appointment the next weekend. I did get paid for one of those days off waiting though. And lots of not getting a next load until after delivering the current load. Even though I had no missed deliveries.
Even now, here I sit waiting for dispatch. 2 hours after the delivery and I have no next load. Yes, the servers are down. They should have sent a load to me Friday instead of waiting. I have tried calling different numbers with no luck.

Yeah and you would think they could give us update.

I wasn't able to get into CB this morning. The gate was closed after 6, and the phone box isn't working. If the shop guy hadn't seen me and drove over to let me in, who knows how long I'd have sat there? Hope they figured out how to open it manually.

With what's going on today, I remembered the thread about the exec changes in Fremont and the joke about FCC standing for Future Crete Carriers and went, "Uh-oh."Friend, BeHereNow97, Rugerfan and 1 other person Thank this.

That's just trucking right now. There's not enough freight to go around in general. Unless you're going to work for a private fleet or left the trucking industry entirely, you're not gonna find anything that's much better. FCC was a solid company when I worked there and I still feel that way after my occasional reading through this thread as it continues to be updated.M22 rockcrusher Thanks this.

I was told Friday not to drive past the KC yard with this load I "might" drop it there don't deliver til the 15th in ceder Rapids Iowa I even tried emailing them lol
Friend Thanks this. -
Phones and email all go through the servers. If you have your driver managers cell, that might work. But they don't give those out often.Kolorado Thanks this.

LTL has always been good. Depends on the private fleet. Yes, I'm going private fleet and based on other drivers feedback from the same company, should be getting back to 100K a year and still get to be home weekly.BeHereNow97 and Cobrawastaken Thank this.
