The following may partly explain things for you:
    • Freight has slowed down....in a lot of places.
    • You are OTR -- & NOT dedicated or intermodal; those fleets offer more consistent action. THAT'S WHY I left OTR, & went intermodal.
While other drivers sat & waited for loads -- intermodal out of Atlanta kept me running.

With a year under your belt -- you have enough seniority & experience to transfer to another fleet within Schneider.

If you never position yourself where the action is -- you will never make real money.

It now takes REAL MONEY -- to live in the US.

If you leave Schneider -- & aren't careful -- my concern is you will be stuck more or less right back in the same trap -- with another carrier....& wondering where the losds/money are located.

Driving around without any real endorsements on your license isn't helping, either....:(

There's of course no way I can prove it -- but my guess is....if you were currently running intermodsl out of St Louis, or Memphis....or running dedicated for say, Target...or Walmart -- your current situation would probably be A LOT BETTER.

You would also more likely have a tractor that isn't running with slicks...as well.

He and bride have to live in the truck. They don't currently own a home, by choice.

When I did security at a marina we had several tenants that lived on their boats.

    I considered that one time.
A woman I know in Florida lives on a houseboat with her father and really likes the lifestyle.

Hurricane season would worry me! We are going to see about a custom built tiny home, but it might be lower in price if we went with a prefab. Either way we want to buy the land for it first and own it outright. 10 acres or less in the country would be great.

I see your point on the house boat. Hurricanes & tornados pass thru Mississippi.
The lady I know that lives with her father on a houseboat in Florida have it on a river vs. an ocean dock.
