Well week one of the new SPD was pretty rough for a lot of people. Last Friday 180 or so trucks were officially transferred to EWW. Monday morning most of the office staff was fired. The ones that are left all have a limited time left to finish off their areas basically. Eventually there will be 5 people in the office and that’s it. A few lucky ones got transferred to EWW, I know at least one of the fleet managers and our recruiter transferred.
California yard is closing, Wichita and the Wichita mechanic is transferring to EWW. We will still base the wing division out of that yard, but they fired our permit agent who was really starting to figure everything out.
I’m hopeful, but not very optimistic for the future of SPD. We have a lot stacked against us but the majority of the drivers left are all very experienced and have been here awhile. I’m sure going to miss hauling elevators though./sThe Block Robert, Walk Among Us, hotrod1653 and 7 others Thank this. -

Definitely a sad day, but it reassures me that my decision to depart was the right move, even though WHERE I moved might not have been the best, at least they're not gonna go under or be bought out.Last edited: Feb 7, 2026

I figure by the middle of the year we'll be in the same position. Every time I stop at the yard in FTW, there is fewer people i know in the office.

You can bet, at least for your office staff, it will be a surprise attack. That's how Wylie does things. Most will have a feeling that something is up, but no advanced warning is given, then one day a group of people from Fargo's High Command comes in and dismisses most of the office. Wylie couldn't care less if these people have other options, they just come in and tell each individual that they're position has been eliminated and will help them carry their personal items to their vehicle. No saying goodbye to the people they have worked with for umteen years, just get out, we don't need you. They are ruthless, greedy, bloodsucking, bottom feeders who would fire their own mother if they could make another dollar profit. There is a special room in Hell for people like them, and I hope they catch some horrible uncureable, painfull disease (that takes years to end them) so they have a preview of what their eternity will be. (Sorry, this chapter in Wylie's existance had dredged up some unpleasant memories from what they did at Moore)Last edited: Feb 7, 2026
