Sounds a bit like Liverpool Docks in the bad old days when ships still went there. Even now, 60 years on, if I hear a Scouse (Liverpool) accent I break out in a sweat. I have been there with one box and they made me wait 3 hours to take it off, much more usual though was having to handball a full load all by yourself, depending on what bonuses they were on.
Got my own back in 1966. A full load of cartons of whisky from Glasgow to go into the bond. But the ship must have been getting ready to sail so they were on an urgent bonus. Didn't stop them demanding £5 though 'to pay for the help'. 'Sorry, I've only got a tenner I'll have to go and get some change'. Off I went, into the first pub in the Dock Rd. I thought that it was impolite to change the note without buying a drink, so I settled down with my pint to watch the football on the telly. 1966 World Cup in England. It was a very long game and I might have had another pint before wandering back into the bond.
The trailer was empty, all that was left were some very sweaty dockers waiting for the fiver. 'Nobody could change it, had to go all the way into town to get it, oh, have you finished? I'll just roll up my sheets (tarps) and then I'll be off.'![]()

You forgot the part about having to run over 16 curbs and 18 landscape planters to make it into the "truck" entrance because the design engineers didnt think about the trucks that will make deliveries. Only to find that some tard employee has put a yellow gate across this side of the lot for the entrance to the back of the store, and now you must back up in the parking lot and squeeze thru the front of the store to get to the other side, so u can face the opposite way from the dock, which means if u need the dock u now got to figure out how to do a 278 point turn to get in there. But dont worry theres already 4 trucks in there and everybodys blocking eachother in. Meanwhile theres plenty of space behind the store for the trucks to have lined up if they hadnt put the gate on the other side, but dont tell the employee that because they are gods gift to this beautiful green earth and anything you say to them is wrong and whatever ur bringing them, they dont want anything to do with it...its the same #### at every single store ive ever been to. I will never spend another dime in any of their stores.FerrissWheel, MACK E-6, exhausted379 and 12 others Thank this.

Home Depot is a lot different than that for the DC loads. At the worst we’d have to wait for our appointment, but when we checked in they’d sign the BOL and slap a sticker on it so we could leave as soon as we were empty.

Aww yes the yellow gate. It was up at the second one I went to. I got out and put it down and drove in. Nobody said anything about it.

Runs into a dropped flatbed
What a retard -
The last pic fare required to ride. I’d say a windshield and a driver that’s alive and coherent ish is a little important to.
How does that why does that -
I used to hate national home center, especially Little Rock. Every load had to be tarped or they’d reject it.
I was parked there waiting one morning and the fat receiving guy came in, drove by my truck. Then asked inside, “is your load tarped??” I told him to look out the window I couldn’t remember either. -
Who hired the new guy…?
FerrissWheel, Gatordude, Feedman and 7 others Thank this. -
Ouch two wreckers.
