Fiery Truck Crash Due To Illegal U-Turn

Non English speaking driver.. I’m betting on it

 

Wouldn't the sensible thing to do would be to travel to the next exit then go under/ over the freeway and enter back on the other side in the opposite direction? One does have to wonder what is going through peoples minds when they attempt such actions, perhaps on a really quiet night with no traffic in sight would it be possible but even then it's still illegal. One has to feel for the families involved in this episode.

 

“make a U-turn as soon as possible” -their gps said.

 

Nothing goes through their minds and that's the problem. All reaction and no contemplation. No risk management. Mindless lemmings shouldn't breed.

 

Exactly right. My gps does this and Im yelling Randy (rand mcnally) you know #### well we aint doing any u turns!

 

I keep my turned down. I get tired of hearing it.
“No truck road!!!” It’s gravel of course it’s not!
“no through trucks!! U turn!!” The grainery is right here!! Down town Indy!!
“The bridge is not gonna hold us!!!”
It’s new!!! Less than 10 years old!
“Low clearance RR crossing!!!”
Been took out for 15 years!!!

I use it to find locations I haven’t been too but that’s the stuff my Rand McNally does

I can’t use garmin gps in my home town. It says all truck routes are non truck routes and wsnts you to go by the school. A real no truck route.

in Memphis on Mallory there a bridge you can fit under. The Rand McNally freaks out. Says your gonna hit, u turn. Immediately. When you go under it, even with a dryvan, it just stops routing like you just killed it and yourself. Gotta reload it every time.

 

Maybe even non domiciled that seems to be the pattern now a days.

Never in a million years did I ever think the industry would sink this low.

 

They should say "You have an exit approaching in 1.5 miles, you can exit there and safely re-enter the roadway in your desired direction". I know it's alot but so many seem the need to have their hand held all the time.
