Im looking at a 2022 Anthem today, has 500 kms on it [300k miles), 10,000 engine hrs, 1 owner, all service done at the same dealer, so all history right to wiper blades and glad hands seals. All A B and C services up to date, oil was done every 20k kms.
Its a 455 1850 mp8 with the mdrive no skirts, up graded interior, rarely slept in so im told. Its a real upgrade for me comfort wise, hoping its almost as nice as my old 2013 volvo 780 as far as quiet. I've had my columbia 9 years and its time for something newer.
Is there anything I should be looking for that's inherent with these? Have a friend with one and he's had pretty good service out of it. Thanks!

Mack’s are good. I have a 19 anthem. But they’re a little heavy.
I’m about 1000 heavier than the kw and almost 2,000 heavier than the international with the same trailer.
they ride good. Drive good. Turning radius is great even compared to the t660, it’ll turn in places the kw can dream.
double bunk, with apu and flow below on this one.
Mine just turned 740k miles when I parked it Friday.
Still quiet ride inside, this one you gotta shut door hard on driver side or air comes around it.

Thanks, im hoping this truck is all its suppose to be, ill see it in the morning.

press the Perf button. See if it lights up blue on the mDrive. Mine stays for about 5 minutes then goes back in regular. Perf gives that extra Rpm on a grade. Mine was deactivated when I got it, I had Mack enable it.
Mine auto shifts into neutral as soon as you set parking brake.Elroythekid Thanks this. -
Well, I left a deposit, it has some paint issues on both sides that need attention, I may 2 tone it, the interior is immaculate, rarely even slept in. 550kms on it 10,000hrs. Works great, needs an alignment and an inspection. Wife andbi are going to the Dominican for a couole weeks, when I get home ill go get it. Hopefully it treats me well. Has an incredible service history, I dont think anybody services a truck like this one was. Pretty happy with it.

TIMING PLATE!!! Make sure that isn't leaking or thats $15k+ worth of repair right off the bat.
I put the volvo/mack used factory warranty on my 2019 for $10K when I bought it. It paid for:
lower timing plate- $6k
upper timing plate- $15k
Injector-$2k
Regen sensor-$1.7k
They are a great trucks execpt for that Timing plate .......86scotty Thanks this. -
It has zero leaks now, im told there is no warranty available, I will ask again tho.
-
Yeah only 70% of the pre-22 Anthems leak so maybe that one is good. The used mack factory warranty is only available from the dealership and the unit has to be less than 6yrs/600k miles. The dealership has to sign off/certify the unit. So if your taking it to a dealership they will find something before they let you buy the warranty.86scotty and Ok big boy Thank this. -
Back yet? I'm looking at one of these too. I know they are smaller than Volvos inside, that seems to be most people's complaint, but I'm ok with that I think. Give us your impressions as soon as you get it on the road.
I was considering a T680 or Pete 579 but seems like I'd be trading problems for problems coming from a Volvo, which I already know. I don't know anything about Pete/KW. I've had great luck with my 2 Volvos.
@Montanaland, the MP8 is basically a D13 and I've never heard of this on Volvo D13's. Is this a Mack specific issue? Thanks for the heads up on this. -
Nope! Week 2 now, ill be home and up to Ontario to get it around the end of the month, right now I have a CFMoto 450 for a chariot, gets me and the wife around Las Terrenas and to what I can only describe as the best beach ever... lol
insurance is in place, invoice paid ameverything ready for when i get home. Just have to eventually leave here..
