    I've about had enough of the sun reflecting off the hood in the morning/evening hours traveling in certain directions.

    My thoughts were to strip the clear coat and have just the top repainted with a Matt or flat black.

    Any thoughts?

    Before you can do that, you have to get a tall shifter:cool:

    @blairandgretchen
    I have seen some trucks with just the top of the hood painted flat black. I’ve never drove one myself, but you wouldn’t really be able to see it from other vehicles going down the road.

    have the top of your hood wrapped flat black, later it can be take off easily,

    :) - I'm bobbing and weaving trying to avoid it now, or trying to prop up a clipboard to block it.

    I wondered about a vinyl wrap - have you tried it?

    The wrap thing sounds like the best way to go, just depends on which one would be cheaper to do. Hell, they might even have hood wraps already made up for different trucks.

    Flat black is the answer. I have pics around here somewhere of 359’s with flat black hood tops.

    I don’t see why a wrap wouldn’t work so long as the vinyl doesn’t create some glare issue from the flat black still having a shine (sorry I am having trouble communicating that idea)
