Well since this load has now officially been late because nobody did anything with it even though they knew I wasn’t gonna be able to make on time delivery since last night for this evening. Been waiting three hours since they said they were working on it… Just sent another message since the phone system seems to be screwed up again if they don’t do anything within the hour I’m driving 31 miles back to the west and bringing this load to the Kansas City yard and dropping it will unhooked from it put the paperwork in the box and flat out tell them I’m done with this load put me on something else..

Genuinely curious, did you ever think to call the customer yourself?

Somebody sent me a message telling me to go ahead and start rolling that way while they’re trying to work on a new appointment… That’s a no go. I’m not moving this truck until something is confirmed one way or the other.

 

Maybe I was just taught by an old school trucker, once I got my load, it was my responsibility.

if I have the customers number, I will call them for information or to give them a heads up on early/late arrival.

Then, if that customer has an issue with it, they can reach out to my dispatch.

I never took an already late load, unless they company is willing to pay me a premium for the ### chewing ill be receiving upon arrivial.
