Yes as long as they're fine with it. Sweep it out onto the ground and pick it up with your hands into a trash bag then throw the trash bag away.

Correct. I believe that all on duty time should be paid for. LTL linehaul (and this isn't just union companies either) are the example of how you can combine CPM mileage pay with a flat pay rate for on duty work. Best of both worlds, you're not hourly and feeling rushed but you also get paid appropriately for on duty time as well. This should be industry standard.

By the way Snackbar, any update on Brakebush? Hopefully things pick up in the springtime and a spot opens up for you, I hope you get on with them in 2026.

First of all when I got to the Blue Beacon last night, the trailer was running at -20 and when they Blue Beacon workers open the door, they were like what in the hell is this smell in here… It smelled that bad with the trailer still at -20… There’s no excuse for anybody to sit there and leave a trailer in that condition… That’s just Pure laziness and they deserve whatever action comes their way

You should’ve stopped at Mechanicsburg and just forced a t call drop on it due to the storm and you would’ve still been running…

Where do you propose that extra money comes from? You can’t compare truckload to LTL because it’s not a direct comparison. Of course LTL can pay for all that when they have stuff for 100 different customers in their trailers. Sort of like how, before everyone decided to buy a box truck, you could spend some time and end up with 4 or 5 LTL shipments in your trailer and be running for $8+ a loaded mile.

The money would have to come from somewhere and truckload carriers are somewhat limited by the market in that area. They can’t just decided to raise rates and pay more because they’d lose contracts. They can’t just pay more because they feel like it, they do need some margin to survive and many companies have been operating at a loss for the last while just trying to survive until better times. You bring this up every chance you get, so where do you propose the money comes from? Because if it’s not additional money on top of what they currently make the companies will just chance the pay scale to make the drivers feel better about getting “paid for everything” all while their pay stays the same as it was when they got a straight mileage rate.

The poop is hitting the air movement device up here again.

I also got a preplan out of McDonough going to Terrell, TX for Sunday.

I’m thankful we’re running on an emergency declaration exemption. I got empty in NH, checked the forecast, and got the heck out of there.

    Speaking of checking your trailer….
Was just behind a Werner who claimed to have an empty at the shack, but when they went to look inside,he discovered it was sealed.

thats roehl and marten at my contract.

not only do they not realize its loaded when hooking to it, theyre so lazy they didnt even go around the trailer for a pre trip.

our facility doesnt let them leave though, so they gotta do the back up of shame out of the exit gate.
