id ask a guy I knew, Carl who thought highly of them. He’s dead. A truck crossed centerline hit him. The seatbelt locked, how they do, and tge body didn’t move, but the whiplash of his neck did, breaking it. Other than that no harm.

Yes no probable cause needed for commercial vehicles, they can pull you over if they feel like it

Immunity because the US is now a police state.

Probably cause aka "i had a hunch" because courts blindly side with LEO's.

LEO can simply say "i smelt xyz on him, or I thought i saw xyz" and now they can violate you however they please.

If the drivers of 4-wheelers consent to a search then they have no right to complain they were searched. If the driver/owner of the vehicle consents to a search it's nobody's business but his. Lots of people online are forever saying "hey, why don't you and him fight to prove my point?"

Pulling you over is different than a search. Keep your doors locked, keep the right window rolled up. I have had several time over the years where LEO'S wamted me to oen the right door so they can stand in the door way, I will not open the right door. It's up to you if you let them in.

Unless they got a reason to check the truck like a smell Mary J or alcohol or suspect something else nefarious they aren't gonna search in most cases. Being a commercial driver they can pretty much do what they want. They want to search my truck they can have at it, I got nothing to hide. On the other hand a security guard at a shipper or receiver thats another story..they aint.

I need to know where that is written in statutory or case law.

Its somewhere in there under the administrative inspection law. DOT can pull you over and conduct and inspection without probable cause. I can't find the exact law per se. Maybe someone can chime in and post it. Generally I think they prefer to have a reason but that does not have to be the case. I myself dont see a problem with it considering some of the unsafe drivers and trucks we have on our roads these days ( saying that poliitley) Unfortunately the rest of us might sometimes have to suffer the inconvenience of an inspection but on the other hand maybe it will mean getting that big $100 clean inspection bonus.

Usually cops can’t just search without probable cause or consent. If the driver agrees or they have reasonable suspicion, that’s enough in a lot of states.
