There is a detached trailer on the shoulder and an abandoned tractor about 50 feet in front, off in the grass on I-20 in Louisiana about the 160. It's been there all week. Somehow, I just don't get that.
I get that this was Jim Bob, that has a truck he can't afford (this is not a company truck as such). But, I don't see how someone can abandon a tractor trailer, detached on the side of the interstate or any road for that matter, for nearly a week at this point.
And I just don't get how the state police can leave it sitting there for nearly a week.

I get that no one so far has involved me, so I don't know all the particulars, but on the face, it just don't make sense to me.

We’ve been buried in snow and ice in the Northeast (especially in Massachusetts) so shorts and boots would actually be plausible! lol

Most states patrols have a pool of Heavy Duty Towing Companies, they get a flat rate from the state for all calls and have to respond, then bill the companies for other labor, storage, etc. So the state wouldn't be on the hook, the tow company would have to go after the owner of the equipment.

More like $3K to $5K. and if the trucking company doesn’t pick it up, then the trailer can be sold at auction.

I know in Georgia in won't sit on the shoulder long. The state troopers will call for a wrecker and semi to remove truck and trailer. The worst ones are Amazon, not so much the trucks but the company I work for will get 6 or so Amazon trailers a year off the shoulder. What's crazy is we'll bring them to our yard and it'll take Amazon a month or more to decide where they want it taken. My Boss loves it. $ for storage $ for pickup & delivery.

Last week a local Keebler tractor pulling doubles wasn’t making enough air to run the rear pup so he dropped it on the shoulder and tried to make it back to base with the front pup and dolly only to lock down solid in the right lane about a mile down the road. They both weren't there very long.
