It's a constant complaint for 5-10 years. Many don't even know what the pull-ahead position is since so many drivers have never seen any driver park there.

navypoppop and MACK E-6 Thank this.

Never been in a “trainers” truck. I did go to a tech school to get my license since it was almost free and easiest thing to do. Biggest “mega” i ever worked for was penske. Went to mcelroy but left before the end of the week. Had things to do and was wasting my time.

    Oxbow Thanks this.

During Saturday’s linehaul run I hit a truck stop in Richmond for a cup of coffee before I started up the road. I found an open lane in the fuel island and pulled through, far enough so somebody could still use the pumps behind me.

I would’ve backed into a spot but I was pulling pups.

I only fuel at mom and pops and regional chains. megas don’t go to and there’s never a line to fuel.

Maybe, possibly last year and it could have been in Utah, it was midnight and I'd just drifted off to sleep when a guy backed in next to me and proceeded to have a maximum volume video call whilst walking all around his truck, in some language I'm not familiar with. This went on a good 10 minutes.

After peering out the window for the 6th time, I noticed him walking toward the truck stop with a bag. I may have donned clothes at this stage, and placed two quarters in his glad hands whilst he was away.

Not sure if this alleged approach was the best idea - when you drag your trailer out into the middle of the parking lot , tires and brakes all a-screeching, it creates more noise. He figured it out pretty quick though. I doubt he made a direct relationship between his behavior and the quarters, but, we can hope.

I was walking in front of one the first time I ever heard one. And the drive probably waited until I got there before he hit that air starter. I almost had to change my undies, make me jump so bad. Looking back it was kind of funny.

To the OP. Walmart sells these wonderful little spongy things called ear plugs for about $5 for a box of 10 pairs, I think it's 10 pairs. Anyways get some and try em out they will change your world and you can then sleep in iran and not be woke up by anything, if you wanna go over to Iran to try them out that is.

Truckstop Manners: As truck drivers, we all share the same stops, bathrooms, and showers every day. Let’s start showing a little more respect for each other and the facilities we use.

No one wants to walk into a bathroom that’s been trashed because someone decided to rinse off in the sink instead of paying for a shower. That’s not only disrespectful to the staff who have to clean it up, but to the next driver who has to use it.

We all work hard out here on the road, let’s take care of the places that take care of us and keep them clean for the next driver. It’s just common courtesy.
