I put this on your other post, but I'll put here to:

Colorado recently changed their law to Move over or slow down by at least 20mph below posted speed limit for ANY stopped vehicle with flashing lights.

Because I want to help others behind me slow down for all stopped vehicles with flashing lights I usually stay in my lane and slow down gradually by 30mph (i.e. from 70mph to 40mph or even slower). I do this now in all states...not just Colorado.

I look to move over one time.If I can’t,then I put on my flashers and slow to the point to where I can stop if I need to.
I think people are to obsessed with needing to get over, that they drift while getting lost in their mirror.

    Flat Earth Trucker Thanks this.

Right, which is also why I'll put my flashers on and gradually slow down.

Entirely possible, but if you get hit from behind in a situation like this, you are not at fault. Still would suck to be involved in an incident, but at least guilt lies somewhere else!

    mjd4277 Thanks this.
