It used to be, if you referred an owner operator, and they put your name down, you'd receive a whopping $100 on your fuel card. Which was great. Because most guys doing OK at Landstar are not going to waste more than $100 of their time to blab on about Landstar.

So - now, the deal is -

If you refer an owner, and they sign up - you'll receive 1% of their adjusted revenue in the first year, and 2% in the second year. As far as I know, this doesn't come out of the new BCO's pocket - it's kicked in by corporate.

I don't care what the fuzzy math is -

When I see changes like this - I have to sound the silent alarm. Now you'll have a bunch of folks telling you lies about how awesome Landstar is, because there is a capacity for BS when $$ is added to the equation.

I've always been honest when people ask me about Landstar - so, just throwing this one out in the atmosphere.

The truck count is down from 10,000 trucks 10 years back, to some 7,500 last time I checked.

And yes - the load board is flooded with cut and paste agents that are sub agents in foreign countries.

I think it's always been around 7500 except when the gold rush hit, then they took anybody, and truly crippled themselves on the safety score.

Fuel at $5 gallon, that number is going to go to 6500 REAL fast.

If everyone just leaves the #### on dock, somebody will find the money to up the rates.
