FCC--Fremont Contract Carriers

I have a Garmin dezel 720 and it has weather radar wind speed red lite camera and etc . I stay with Garmin because their headquarters in Olathe, Kansas, and just a heads up guys if you’re in Olathe Kansas, you can run over to Garmin‘s headquarters and they’ll check out your Garmin for free and they have truck parking

 

Never knew this about the headquarters. Have used Garmins for many, many years.

I got word in the middle of the night that the family member in northern Michigan who had terminal stomach cancer had passed on. He was doing okay for quite awhile but then he coughed up a lot of blood a couple weeks ago and went downhill very quickly. But at least now he's not in pain anymore and in a better place. Cancer is the true evil in this world. He would've celebrated his 37th birthday this June. I'm glad I chose to spend extra time with him when I went up there around Halloween last year.

As for myself, I have no regrets in leaving the trucking industry in my mirrors. I've lost a good amount of weight and I'm overall a lot happier

 

The trucking industry is what each person makes of it. You don’t get your CDL and automatically gain weight. With 10 hours off mandated by law plus the relaxed schedules that most large companies have there’s a fair bit of time available for exercise every day. I had no issue getting my steps in every day when I was leased to FCC.

 

Interesting… ive bought 3 RM units and have been fairly happy with them and their ETAs and POIs for Trucks has served me well… but I might have to swing through HQ in Olathe and let them give me the Sales Pitch.

 

Ya, I really need to start getting serious about making time for simple exercises when OTR.

 

I do..i usually do about 2mi a day walk right now..takes me apx 38mi to do that

 

Doc told me heart disease is a couch potato if you walk away he won’t follow

 

I had a cousin in Ludington, down on the west side of the mitten, die of gastro-esophageal cancer just a few weeks ago. Her father, my uncle died of leukemia a few months previous. Funny thing, no history of cancer anywhere in the family other than them, both got the clot shot, both gone within five years. I realize correlation doesn't equal causation, but I'm glad I didn't get the shot.

 

My wife's paternal family is all in nearby Farwell
