California has been on dot blitz for a bit of time now.. I have seen several scales, including Tehachapi and Grapevine completely filled up with trucks around back even the eastbound Tahachapi, that usually is never opened was open

There’s a red tagged reefer at Wilmer that the contents have been left to rot..I can’t believe they are letting it sit there and smell like that.Made me gag.

It'll be too late to inspect that load and who is going to unload that mess?

We had a load of peppers in the same situation of waiting for inspection in the summer heat at B & G Foods. After the juice was running out the back of the trailer it became fertile back in the field.

The company isn't making any money on this load. On top of a weekend of detention time, I had a chunk of AZ road take out the sidewall of 1 trailer tire and damage the tread of another. I was trying to avoid the bad pavement, but a box truck decided he didn't like me crowding the line, so he all but clipped my mirror and I didn't quite have enough time to get my passenger tires far enough to the shoulder side of the damage. This load is cursed (or maybe it's me that's cursed)

On a positive note, they reworked the load fairly quickly today. Either they had originally put extra on the trailer last Friday, or they had put some of the wrong stuff on because I am 4000 lbs lighter on my gross weight. I looked at the b/l and nothing is adjusted other than a new seal number and our notation that the load was reworked and a new seal number was added. I let my AM know about the change, and she had me send her a copy of the b/l and packing slip. But the load was sealed at the shipper, so if they forgot to put some freight back on, it's between Sam's and the shipper.

Shaffer's Mr. Excuse messaged me yesterday wondering how it's going over here. Apparently he's keeping track of me, convinced that, as he said before I left, "I am making a mistake" moving to the dry side. Like I told him just before the switch, if it doesn't work out on the dry side, I will turn in my keys and leave the company entirely, I am through with having to deal with all the extra b.s. at Shaffer unless they start paying $1/mile to company drivers, but he doesn't get it.
