We did stop across the road from it I think to spend the night. We’re broke from “big orange” and playing catch up. We’d love to go out to eat sometime but right now we save as much as we can.

I’ve also got some news!! Great news… Safety sent me a message today that the camera is coming out of my truck. I haven’t had any issues and not one alert, so they must be content with my driving.
Friend, hope not dumb twucker, Lonesome and 10 others Thank this. -
Congratulations Cherokee! You must be doing everything right. They appreciate you and are confident that they do not need to watch you closely. Keep up the good work.Friend, hope not dumb twucker, Cherokee65 and 1 other person Thank this.

Thank you! They said it would be in here for about 60 days, it’s only been in here about 3-4 weeks. I guess they figure if I haven’t had any issues in that amount of time going through the cities and mountains I’ve been through then my driving is ok. I told the guy who does the road test that I was going to drive like I always do and I wasn’t going to change anything just because he was in the truck with me. That’s exactly what I did. Slow and steady, avoid the ragers, slow around curves and take my time. But I’m glad it’s coming out.Friend, Albertaflatbed, mitrucker and 4 others Thank this.

Heading out tomorrow morning @ 07:00. No word yet on where we’ll be going. I’m hoping it’s south on I-10 across to Louisiana and on to SC. But no telling. The mountain passes just east of Tulare, CA is getting 10”-30” of snow in the higher elevations and I’m not very thrilled about crossing it. I’m hoping they have it cleared off the roads if we end up going there.
Lonesome and navypoppop Thank this. -
The hills in the west aren't any harder or more dangerous than those in the east, or heck some of the ones in the Ozarks. They're just hard longer. 7 miles down a 6% grade is lot easier than going up and down 5-7 4% grades over 7 miles.
Load bars will do absolutely nothing to keep roll stock from moving unless they are logistics bars that clip into the etracks. Load bars are useful for floor loads and reefers that don't have etracks, most don't even have a weight rating. Etrack straps are generally rated at 1,000 lbs static weight and 3,000lbs dynamic weight. Rolls generally move when taking a curve to fast, if the roll tries to move, the load bar isn't going to stop it. The strap will.FullMetalJacket, Cherokee65, 201773 and 4 others Thank this. -
