Back in the day at FxF, I delivered one small box of lighters to the local Cracker Barrel. Why was it sent Freight? Because it's technically hazmat and none of the other FX divisions would touch it.
One box of lighters. Less than two pounds. Sent Freight. The stupid, it burns.Lonesome, MACK E-6 and Trucker61016 Thank this. -
I thought lighters were non hazardous unless the fluid is with the packaging... then they're hazardous consumer products...

I hauled spray whipped cream and every case had a placard on it because the propellant was hazardous, however the total volume was not above the RQ, but I would hazzard a guess (pun intended) that if a trailer load of that burst into flames those cans would be popping off like M80's

I had to open my big freekin mouth last week. Easter weekend was the start (however they paid me $450 for all that sitting waiting to get my overweight trailer reworked.) Earlier this week, I lost half a day waiting on that floor load outside Chicago. Today, I had 6 big rolls of paper that I picked up in AR yesterday, it delivered outside Atlanta. 14:00 set appointment, arrived at 13:30, finally got empty at 19:00. Still spending less time loading and unloading than when I was with Shaffer, so I am still not upset with my decision to switch.
hotrod1653, Knucklehead, Lonesome and 5 others Thank this. -
All the fireworks I ever had were Explosive 1.6.
Ground wouldn’t take it?
I do know UPS wants an MSDS with the shipment before they’ll touch it.
Hazmat for naptha, but most likely would be listed as limited quantity which wouldn’t count towards an aggregate total for placard requirements.Lonesome, brian991219 and 201773 Thank this.
