Even if the 115 mile route got you 6 mpg and the 155 mile route got 8 mpg, the 115 would still use less fuel.

Likely doesn't save you much time either - 5 to 10 minutes at best.

I have to laugh. They remind us virtually every weekly update to make sure we follow our fuel solutions...but then don't trust us to fuel at a terminal without adult supervision...(When the mechnics aren't in the shop, they turn off the pumps). Fine by me, if management doesn't trust me to fuel at a terminal, then I'll just have to buy commercial fuel and add some more points to my rewards card...no skin off my schnoz.

I have traveled I-75 many times over the years and I despise that road 100%. I have traveled US 231many times in both a semi and my 5th wheel rv and I would always choose it over I-75. US-231S to I-10E to US-19S to US27S on into Gainesville. A lot less traffic, good 4 lane highways and plenty of places to stop and eat or fuel if needed. It is a lot less stress and traffic as compared to I-75.

On 95 up here it’s all but impossible to run the posted, in the legal truck lanes anyway. Too many rolling Cascadia roadblocks and third world banana republic Amazon haulers who refuse to step on it.

I wonder if that's the one I remember getting a message that if your entering from the right side they get upset. Because they want you to get to the terminal off a certain exit

I think so... I remember the messages about getting off at the exit north of town and go south on US52 turning right onto 9th then left into the terminal. They didn't want you coming in from the south because it went through town... if my memory serves right... it's been 20 years...

If it's the one I was thinking of. The address GPS's loved to show some random side road on one of the exits

I know lenoir city they send those messages out. And have signs. Still occasionally see trucks coming and going from the wrong way. GPS will send you the wrong way if coming from the east, but think theres a blind curve at the intersection to get to the terminal

Agree. 231 is the better way in that scenario. I-75 north and south from Chattanooga all the way down the Florida is the worst, constant traffic jams and 6 lanes of congestion the whole length of it, terrible. Ran it a bunch over the years but if it wasnt late at night it always sucks.
