Sat out the wind in Rawlins, Wy. Made it to the Crete terminal in Lincoln, NE last night. Got up this morning, did my pre trip, filled the truck with fuel and headed out for KC. Made it there and now getting clothes washed. About had it with a manager. She never did Tcall my load to KC. She didn’t want me to go on home time but deliver the load to GA. Nope, waited until this morning when I knew she’d be gone and had another manager take care of it. I’m done with her. This load was the last straw. Now, on to better things. Going to Jeff City, Mo for a few days to get away, pick up medicine and mail. Might see if I can take my wife out for a nice steak dinner on the 27th. I’ll be 61 on the 27th.

How I ever made it to 61 is beyond me, because I’ve done some crazy things in my life. For example, as a kid we learned how to drive on tractors on the farm. Well, one day we got the bright idea from the Dukes of Hazzard to jump terraces in old broken down cars and trucks sitting around on the back of the farm when Grandma and Grandpa were in town. We’d get them going just enough to run and jump them across the terraces. I never expected that landing to be as hard as it was or frames to bend that much. We ended up with broken ribs, arms and sore backs and necks from it. A thousand wonders we survived. As always, local adult beverages were involved and I don’t mean the canned kind.
Never took much to get us to come up with some hare brained ideas either. But, I wouldn’t trade those painful teen years for anything that kids do today. We learned how to fix anything and everything that had an engine and what caused them to not run. Crazy stuff…
