Another drop load, no empties. I was pre-planned on a live load for tomorrow going to Menomonie that had to be there before midnight Saturday. I had a whopping 2 spare hours on my 70 to get it there by then, so I won't have the hours to go running around chasing my tail on another wild goose chase looking for one. What good is having all this new customer freight and recruiting more drivers when they can't provide empties to keep us moving.

It had a case but it was a Samsung S20 FE which have a plastic body that doesn't radiate heat like the glass back phones, but those are too easy to break. On hometime I had bought a refirb'd S22 and a slightly less protective Otter Box (not the Defender) and the phone lasted 3 days. Came home from dinner, tossed my wallet and the phone on the dining room table (from about 2 feet away) and the back shattered. This is why I don't buy new. This is me dealing with malfunctioning electronics
One year when I was with Verizon, their insurance company cancelled my policy because I had too many claims. They said I had to go 12 months before I could re-apply for phone insurance from them, so I started buying refurbished equipment.Last edited: Apr 29, 2026

They put so many freaking ding dongs and doodads in the tractor that it can practically tell the company what you had for breakfast and what you dreamed about last night, but don't bother doing anything to track trailers that could potentially be loaded with millions of dollars in merchandise. That makes perfect sense.

And here I am, typing this message on a 9yo Google Pixel 2XL that's still in the same OtterBox case I bought with the phone in 2017.
I am thinking about getting a new phone though, this one is starting to get glitchy and doesn't hold a charge well anymore.Bud A., Friend, Knucklehead and 4 others Thank this. -
Our trailers have some sort of solar powered thing in the front that has what looks like a camera inside. Not sure how it works or if it has any sort of tracking, but based on last weekend's wild goose chase, I am guessing that weekend Ops doesn't know how to use it.Bud A., Friend, Trucker61016 and 5 others Thank this.
