Were you at the Petro this morning (Thursday 16th) around 8am. Saw a couple walking the lot for awhile and thought maybe it was you?

Covid 19 put the truck stop restaurants out of business. Everyone was forced to go to grocery store. Plus most company trucks hav fridge and microwave today.
I got out of habit of going to truck stop restaurants. Then ELDs kinda stopped everyone stopping restaurants also. Even before Covid TA and Petro started to close restaurants at 9 or 10 pm they also closed the buffetsThe_vett, navypoppop and Concorde Thank this. -
I remember going in restaurants and you could not even get table to sit at it was so busy. Remember Petro would give you that little pitcher of soda or ice tea. They stopped that when they sold out to TA or one of the bigger investment group that now own TA/Petro

Nope wasn't us. It's been awhile since we were there because we have been moving around the rv. Thanks for noticing.Concorde Thanks this.

That place had great expectations when it 1st opened back up, but it never really got going so they got together with TA to stay open. Even then they struggled, so they started charging for parking. There was a decent place across the street but they moved up by the Lake City airport when the building's owner sold the property to the Busy Bee, and are planning a big truckstop across the street. That'll probably doom them once it's open (if it ever gets built)... that place is 12 miles from Casa de Snackbar

SSB,
Loves has built one just up the road from the TA nearer to the I-75 and the one that is across from the TA is now a Pilot/ONE 9. You are so correct on the hope of success that never happened with this TA. When it was an independent Mom&Pop I stopped almost weekly because of plenty of truck parking and a decent sit down restaurant. They have failed to provide the truckers with a decent place to stop, park and eat. I do not see them staying open too much longer. -
That Love's is where Mrs. Snackbar, our recently murdered fur baby and I hunkered down in SPD's truck during hurricane Irene. It has been there since I worked for Moore.
The place that is now the One-9 changed a couple times over the past couple years. It was an S&S, then the S&S chain sold to whomever is running the C-store part, then they leased the diesel fueling to Flying Pilot who made it into a One-9 and added some additional parking behind the dilapidated motel next door. Last I checked, it was only a fuel stop with a Wendy's. No showers and only a 2 or 3 hole bathroom.kemosabi49 and navypoppop Thank this.
