Charlotte claims to a city of 'DEI' but there is nothing more unequitable than the I-77 Express Lanes there. The worst designed 'express' system in the country I imagine and costs #### near $50 for a car to go from one end to the other on weekday afternoons. It is a highway for rich, well-to-do people while the rest of us are crammed into two lanes of bumper to bumper traffic for 15 miles.
-
My GPS always wants to route me to take those lanes. Ignoring the fact that trucks can't use them. Garmin seems to only know about the speed limit of those lanes and nothing else.Friend, hope not dumb twucker, 201773 and 1 other person Thank this.

…and there’s talk of doing the same thing on 77 south of the city. Glad my required travels in Charlotte are a fraction of what they used to be.Friend, hope not dumb twucker, Lonesome and 2 others Thank this.

Not sure what part of "I don't have the hours" planning fails to understand. I initially rejected the load that goes to Raymond, NH yesterday morning because I would be so tight on my 70 that I couldn't get there, deliver and find parking. So, they resent it with a t-call in Mechanicsburg. Now, they just sent it picking up in Mechanicsburg, still delivering tomorrow. Thanks to my time used fueling here and dropping it, I have less time on my 70 than before. Then they followed it up with a paper load out of ME going back to Louisville as if I am just not wanting to go to NH. I rejected both and I get "stand by for options". The only option is, reschedule the drop for Sunday, but then the load to Louisville has to be there Tuesday, another live unload rolled paper load, which might be possible, but would use most of what I have just to get it there...I have optimized my hours as good as I can, but ####.
I ran 4012 miles on this weeks pay, and had 43 min left in my 70. If safety wants to give me a 2nd login or authorization to exceed my 70, then I could physically do it...but they won't.Friend, Bud A., hope not dumb twucker and 9 others Thank this. -
I question if their even looking at your logs. Because if they see you don't have hours to deliver to NH. Why send you further up in Maine? Especially once you go past the service plaza in Kennebunk. Don't have really that many options afterwards.

Dispatch screwed things up. They couldn't find anyone to handle this load from Mechanicsburg to NH, so they preplanned me on it again which I refused. Then they pre-planned it on me to take it to Scranton and t'call it. Then, they said the computer wouldn't let them do it that way. So, they undid the t'call here in Mechanicsburg, which I had already scanned it in for the t'call here. So, now I won't get to show a 4000 mile week. I still had a good week, but ####. Night and weekend dispatch would screw up a wet dream. Should have just told them no.

Uncle Sam is just as disappointedFriend, mitrucker, hope not dumb twucker and 1 other person Thank this. -
So last night over some thinking drinking I came up with this trip planning question.
Since I recall SSB fussing about there’s too much time on a load, does that come the idea of always trying to arrive at the consignee with a fresh clock in case they tie you up too long to find a good place to shut down for the night?Friend, hope not dumb twucker, 201773 and 2 others Thank this.
