Finally. This is great news. Maybe some of the Ukrainian draft dodgers will be taken off the road because they can't get loads. New billboards in the litigious states with lawyers holding baseball bats standing up on office buildings: "Injured by a big freight broker?" Dave will sneer at $2k for a 179 mile load, holding out for $4k at least. Dispatch will message "CH Robinson wants to know if you were cited for anything on that inspection."

I think you are absolutely correct about how EVs are not appropriate for everybody. They are just not functional unless a standard commute for groceries and work is under 50 miles. Also not practical if they cannot be charged at home or work sponsored charge station.
Hybrids have evolved to the point they are a practical choice for most folks. EVs are not there yet.
I did purchase an EV for more local type running around. It has a functional range of about 200 miles which makes round trips from my place to either Portland or Tacoma viable. Seattle is kinda pushing it and would be best to plan around a partial quick charge along the way.
I also would not have purchased the EV if I did not already have the Hybrid for longer trips, and the pickup for heavy trips. Also to make financial sense the EV must be charged at home.
Basic cost per mile for the fleet:
EV charged at home $0.02 per mile
EV charged at a station $0.10 per mile
Hybrid fuel cost now $0.15 per mile (was $0.10 a year or so back)
Pickup is over $0.50 per mile with current fuel costs.BennysPennys, 77fib77, thatsright and 7 others Thank this. -

We rode once in a memorial ride for a fallen police officer, he was a good friend of our family. It was hot , about a two hour ride . Full police escorts through the country side we didn't have to stop anywhere, stoplights, stop signs they keep us moving. We were all ready to stretch our legs and cool off after that. I didn't realize how much of a break it is to stop for a few minutes at a stoplight and put your legs down.BennysPennys, thatsright, austinmike and 6 others Thank this.

Both FULL BUSHES have been trimmed.
Major Wheeler honeysuckle has been trimmed. The Hotel Kalifornia is attracting more guests as it's been a bit too kool for the pool to warm up much.
