I have the same inverter and have had it for 6 years. I have zero complaints except maybe for the size.
Um... 50 amp fuse? For a 3000 watt inverter? That would max you out at 1100 watts assuming 12 volts. And the power it draws is not the power it puts out. They are usually only about 80% efficient if you've lucky.
For the full 3000 watt output you would need to be able to pull about 3750 watts from the battery. At 14 volts (with the engine running) that would be 267 amps. I use a 200 amp fuse.Last edited: May 25, 2026 at 7:42 AM

I'm behind the times I guess. Never found the need for an inverter in the truck.

I was the same until the last few years. They're super handy for eating healthier avoiding bad truck stop fast food fare.

I've got a big IceCo 12v fridge/freezer, but usually don't cook much anymore. I freeze my food at home and just thaw it on the dash and eat it.
Not necessarily the most appetizing, but it's healthy. I don't even make coffee anymore very often. When I do, i use the little Coleman stoveBud A., hope not dumb twucker, Diesel Dave and 1 other person Thank this. -

In my experience the nicest thing to cook with is the Blackstone but it takes a bit of extra time to clean up properly.D.Tibbitt Thanks this.
