Well, you've been off the road for a long time, but when you pull a hill, you can tell.

I'm just saying, I got in the left lane trying to pass , then got my business handed to me when Prime Inc spooled it up to 80 going uphill last week.

I started at Prime a dozen years ago. Back then they were all governed at 65 on cruise, 62 on the pedal, including the fleece operators. The O/Os were not iirc. I got messages from the fleet manager at least once a week #####ing at all of us (including O/Os) about how we needed to slow down to save fuel to get a mileage bonus that was impossible to hit pulling a flatbed. We all agreed that it made more sense to run it to the governor in hopes of getting one more load a week.

They seriously pushed the idea that running at 56 was a smart move. The only fleet that I ever saw doing that were the food grade tankers.

They may have turned up the trucks on the company drivers and fleece operators. I have also noticed that there are a lot of different companies pulling Prime trailers these days, a few of whom have blown my doors off. Truckingtruth.com shut down so I'm not sure where we can find current info on Prime.

I have noticed the something. They are just down the road from me and noticed it the last month or two. Guess the rates are good enough now they dont have to save on fuel anymore to make a profit. That was the only reason they slowed down. Now they want to run hard and make that money while it's there.

Company drivers are governed at 62 now at Prime. Those are either Western Flyer Xpress drivers or Prime drivers who own their trucks. If their truck doesn’t say IWX or Western Flyer Xpress and it says Prime, look at their mud flaps. A lot of the time their mud flaps will say Pedigree Truck sales instead of Prime which means they own their trucks. Basically, if they’re going faster than 65 they own their trucks or are Western Flyer Xpress. Company and lease drivers are governed.
