Gods thanks for reminding me why I work for a company that does not require me to deal with stupid, you-know-what fuel solutions.

Man...I have been posting on the wrong Snackbar thread all week. Hometime really messed with my brain this time...all the messages since the 8/9 message should be in my Shaffer to Crete transfer thread.

Well folks, that’s all she wrote for me and SPD. On Tuesday I turned my truck in at the dealership in Wichita so it could be detailed and reseated.

11 years, 8 months and around 1.5 million miles. I hauled a lot of cool stuff and had a lot a fun. I have no regrets.

Now a brief stroll down memory lane. I guess it will have to be a few posts since I can only upload 10 pictures per post.
Where it all started in truck 021
    IMG_0499.jpeg IMG_0543.jpeg IMG_0608.jpeg
Every Tuesday I would leave Wichita around 1400 bound for Ontario and QC with as much freight and I could fit. Usually starting in Cambridge, Ontario and ending in Arnprior, Ontario. Bounce down to ravenswood, wv and grab a load of plate aluminum to take to Wichita and start all over again. 3000+ miles and home for a reset nearly every weekend.

Then I lost my marbles and decided to try oversize. My first load of 767 thrust reversers.
    IMG_2388.jpeg
    767 horizontal stabilizer. IMG_2479.jpeg
My first wing load, bombardier sn: 75007. This went on the first production plane and it’s the one the use in all their advertisements. IMG_2593.jpeg
Gulfstream g650 wings. We called these the 650 skinny trailer because it was only 16’ wide.
    IMG_3188.jpeg
Gulfstream G5 wings. These loads started out wing program and were quite the challenge at 16’ wide and only about 18” off the ground on the right. IMG_3354.jpeg
G280 wings at 19’6” wide. These were lots of fun on the back roads of ok, ar, and Mississippi. We wouldn’t touch the big road until day 4 in Tennessee. IMG_3424.jpeg
first BA wing with my blue truck. If they would have ordered me this exact same truck again, I would probably still be there. 630k flawless miles. IMG_4225.jpeg

Loading g280 wings on the Antanov because they were behind schedule. IMG_5890.jpeg
Angled 787 inlets. These were always a pain to tarp but looked good if done right. IMG_6107.jpeg
tooling to produce the 767 aft pressure dome at a new facility. We hauled a lot of tool over the years. IMG_7244.jpeg IMG_7250.jpeg
stealing flatbed freight with a double drop. Return g280 tooling that once folded up fit in a 40’ container. IMG_7744.jpeg
    SpaceX rocket transition ring IMG_8543.jpeg
A pizza oven. One of our long time customers built these and we hauled a bunch of them. Great ltl freight for us. IMG_8585.jpeg
no idea what this was but it was a pain in the ### to tarp. IMG_0892.jpeg
I was basically a box jockey for a few hours, that was all I could take. IMG_1094.jpeg
We dabbled in wind energy for a while, I picked up this load, 1of 10 we were going to do. Another driver picked up the second on and almost dumped it in a truckstop parking lot. We were asked to not come back. IMG_1389.jpeg

Man, that is awesome, and you certainly have been able to do a lot of very interesting things and provide us with a lot of great information and entertainment.

If you can, let us know what your next gig is. If it's secret, a vague description would be appreciated. Wish you only the best.

    Lonesome Thanks this.

We hauled a lot of electric trucks for Kenworth, some test trucks, some were demos, most of them didn’t run. IMG_1412.jpeg
did severl loads of debarking equipment for Nicholson. Always an interesting trip riding the ferry two and a half hours one way to Vancouver island. IMG_1435.jpeg
Drug this little guy from ar to Maine and Vermont and hung out while they demoed it for customers. Got to spend some time in Bangor playing tourist IMG_1773.jpeg
This was the next load after that little truck, a bit of a step down in technology. We pushed it in with an even older wheel loader, it was bound for Haiti. IMG_1786.jpeg
t7 trainer jet wings. They are a bit smaller than the private jet wings we typically haul. IMG_1975.jpeg
3 of us took these enclosures out to Long Island. I was 14’6” wide going through Chicago with no escorts on surface streets. It was interesting. IMG_2095.jpeg
a satellite turn over machine IMG_2698.jpeg
I hauled a lot of yellow iron is fill in loads waiting for my oversize containers to be ready IMG_2760.jpeg
Too many loads of empty oversize pallets to count IMG_2847.jpeg
How about 47,000 pounds of dog treats, floor loaded that had to be palletized and loaded into a dry van. IMG_3133.jpeg

    A marine winch. IMG_3342.jpeg
    worlds largest Lego piece IMG_3698.jpeg
Ran a lot of these specelized trailers with wing parts inside IMG_3793.jpeg IMG_3861.jpeg
One of my career highlights: a 17’ tall oven that I took from Tx to Las Vegas and back to Texas IMG_4160.jpeg
Dust collectors usually under 14’ wide and 16’ tall. Gravy, I wish we did more of these IMG_4598.jpeg IMG_4936.jpeg
saw mill equipment. Hated these loads and I bet SSB would agree. IMG_4652.jpeg IMG_4754.jpeg
we dabbled in some green iron for EW Wylie IMG_4837.jpeg

hotrod1653, JohnBoy, Speedy356 and 8 others Thank this.
