Good afternoon all. I was pleasantly surprised when I got home from CDL school today to find an email from USA Truck with a pre-approval from the application I submitted last night. I'm still not sure if they are my final destination, so can some of you give me an idea of what they have to offer. Don't just tell me they s**k, their trucks are slow, I never get reimbursed for scale tickets, even though I lost them, blah, blah, blah. It's always somebody's fault, not yours. I get that. Tell me what it's like to work there. Do they pay on time? Are the trucks decent? Are they clean? What about your fellow drivers? Are they mostly respectful? What about your dispatchers? How are they to work with? Does the company hang you out in the middle of Kansas (nothing personal against Kansas) on a Friday afternoon waiting for a load that won't be ready til Tuesday when you are supposed to be in Richmond on Monday? How are they with conflict resolution? You see the kind of info I'm looking for. Doesn't have to be all sunshine and roses, but give me the good and the bad. Be specific. Thanks everyone(anyone)that responds. God Bless.

I started at Schneider, they're a good company despite their slow trucks and orangeness. They back you up if you do what you're supposed to.

Thanks Kiv. Schneider also on the short list. Spoke to recruiter today as a matter of fact. Thanks for your reply. Maybe we'll cross paths one day. You first, of course.

I don't work for Schneider anymore. I worked for their flatbed division then they sold it a few months after I started. I no longer work there but they always are ready to welcome me back.

I went through USA orientation last week and they treated us well. Fed us 3 meals a day and the drivers lounge at the terminal was comfortable. The only thing is I am having to wait a week, but they paid to send me home and wait, to hookup with my trainer as they are backlogged. Good Luck and be safe out there!

I drove for them 2 years, if you want to run and stay out on the road, you can make some ok money there starting , get your feet wet and see if you like trucking. They do pay weekly, but they take the school fee and then some out that 1st year, don't expect the money to stop coming out once the bill is paid,, they take it out the whole 1st year, you end up over paying.. I was given back over $1100 I over paid after the contract was finished.. hope for a good FM and stay humble... or you will end up with a $5000 school bill for quiting... it happens quite a bit,, out of 25-30 guys I went thru school with who chose USA, I only seen 1 a year later still working there... the nights and weekend dispatchers are crap and treat drivers that way for the most part... don't expect any money for sitting, breakdown, detention time they just don't pay,, and get QualComm message confirming tolls before you go that way... been about 4 years since I was there last... so things might have changed... but I doubt it... run hard and stay out on the road more then the minimum 14 days and you can make some money... I brought home a $1600 pay check there once, all legally too had 9 days worth of miles drop on one check-4700+ miles, I would stay out 5-7 weeks and take 5 days off... got my 2 years and went too look for greener pastures.. found it this year :) good luck
