Well I am scheduled to start orientation on Monday 8/9. I hear bad things about Arnold, but I can say the same about most OTR companies mentioned here. I need the work. I worked the past year for a local company, traveled 7-8 states, but I was home every day. They were an AG. company so I didn't have to keep logs, and I was not subject to the 14/70 hr rules. Most companies will not consider this as exp. since I didn't keep logs, or sleep in a truk. Sooooo beggers can't be choosers I guess. I hope things go well. I was told the following:
-Trucks are autos, and 3 years old or less
-I am assigned "super regional", meaning NE.SE. and west to Texas
-Out 10-14 days then home 48 hrs...they try to get you home every other weekend
-Orientation is three days, they pay for hotel, breakfast and lunch, dinner is my cost. No pay for orientation
-After three days and drug screen and physical, I am assigned a truck, and routed home for a day or two, but bring enough clothes to last 10 days just in case. She said they almost always get drivers home before the first run.
-I live in Pa. but was told my home terminal will be in Florida, and Camp Hill is secondary....which sounds like a good thing.
All I can say is I will try my best, and hopefully they will do their part. I will keep you posted with my progress as honestly as I can. I won't sweat the small suff, as I know that there is no perfect driving job, and miles are crappy all around.mrdaydreamr Thanks this. -
You going to Camp Hill?

Hey pricey59 hows it going?
-
did you say arnold doesnt pay for orientation?

Pricey, how's it going with Arnold? My husband just hired by them, he is waiting on a trainer now. He did orientation in Duncan SC and is now on his way to the Florida terminal to wait on a trainer.
