Maybe you've got the pointed stick Pal......cause my singing voice would make a bullfrog cover it's ears.

Thank you for the informative post Palazon. I am a new Swift driver (started in June oh'10) and though I'm from California, have had the privilege of hanging out in the Pacific Northwest quite a bit and loving it. I've seen a lot of those HH trucks on the road up here with Gordon and Haney and countless other companies with the triple and quadruple tandems with tag axles and always wondered what that was all about. Now I know, cool
Texas-Nana Thanks this. -
My pleasure. We are a weird breed tho....

Can you get into Heavy Haul out of Sumner after your 6 weeks with your mentor
-
Yes. 4 hr class and close quarters training (1/2 day) 1st, but yes HH is open to new drivers.
If you are planning for HH, I do recommend asking for an HH mentor. If not available, ask if you can swap mentors in week 4 or so to HH for experience. Talk to Joanna or Julian (DM's) of the Sumner terminal and they may be able to assist. Or, you could ask for a week with the nightshift daycabs to get a feel for the weight.
When I went HH, my DM set me up with a 3 axle truck and heavy reefers. The sudden swap from my mentors rig (heaviest load 20k lbs) to mine running a standard 45k lbs was a sharp learning curve. 1 month later, I was in my 1st 4axle truck.
Best of luck,
Pal -
Thanks will do

Heavy Dude,
Since you are unable or unwilling to listen to reason and move on, I must respectfully request that you either change the subject, start your own thread or whatever.
The horse your beating died almost a month ago and frankly it's beginning to stink and make me nauseous.
I am hear to learn more about Swift, and Swift specifically, not wade through this endless rant based solely upon semantics. Let it die and move on already.
Thanks in advance, -
My last post was three weeks ago. Go beat your "horse"
