Driver, I do it in a big truck, I do it in my personal truck, I do it driving my wrecker.

The thing to do is not complain, it is to educate the FNG's so they know better.

That's why I turn my headlights off, leaving my marker lights on and wait until the driver is far enough past me that I know he isn't coming over at all or turn them back on when his turn signal comes on or he starts to move over. During bad whether, rain snow fog, I will also give a verbal "come on over driver" on the CB. I don't get mad either way if I don't get common courtesy back, I just figure that you can't fix stupid.:biggrin_25526:

I always worry about the "come on over driver" over the cb. What driver are you talking to? If the one half way past me starts coming over because you told the one that is past you to come over we just may have a problem.

    Half a Load Thanks this.

That can be a problem. If you are calling someone over, make sure to identify which truck you're talking to by company name, color, brand, kind of trailer he's pulling, or whatever sticks out. And if you're not sure they're telling you in particular to come over, don't do it.

I never do the come over thing on the CB, there's too many trucks within radio range. Like at the truckstops when someone's saying "C'mon back, C'mon back" (usually on a CB with a 100 watt footwarmer, talking to a truck right beside him), and 5 trucks back into something in 3 different truckstops. If I want to help someone back in, I get out with a flash light and make eye contact!

I don't flash Peters or fast movers... They typically never flash back or they are doing 10 faster than me anyway so there's no need to.. haha.. Sorry to any good caliber of Peter owners here, but most of the people that own those trucks seem like just blatent a-holes and yes..... I also drive one of those Slow White Idiotic Frickin Trucks.

I noticed also about 1/3 of the drivers actually give you a "thank you"... if someone flashes me over, I really do appreciate the common courtesy, and I will thank them.

Have you done the SDD class yet? We were told in there that the company policy is No More Flash to Pass allowed.

I flash everyone over all day and all night. Don't even expect a thank you anymore , it is above 90% who dont acknowledge. I do it anyway so I can judge people as a jerkwad or not immediately for future reference. I never forget. All common courtesy is immediately revoked from them on my part and sometimes I go so far as to go out of my way to screw them over at the first opportunity. They won't even know what I've done cause I'm good like that but I have no remorse for bothering them. My favorite are the super truckers who whizz by me going 10 over but seem to stop every 20 miles. It is amazing how many times we seem to "interact" during a day of driving. Oops sorry driver didnt see you coming down that ramp. Opps my bad didnt see you coming up the hammer lane there is a car a 1/4 mile ahead I want to pass, oh well no biggie. Kharma is a ##### afterall.
