He's a 25-pound Basenji. Not small, but far from large. It's okay. He always gets a little bit when I'm finished. I have to keep him fed and watered. Have to keep the meat fresh for when I need it.![]()

The 4 legged furr kids make the best co-drivers, they wont pick up on lot lizards, they wont steal your money, and they will let you know if some one is messing with your truck at night.
When I was on the road I took my 110 lb German Shepherd with me, he rode on the passenger seat like a person...

People would always do a double take when they saw him.
The rest of the time he would lay on the floor by the gear shift.

Beast, a good friend of mine takes his Chow mix with him. She is the sweetest girl and his best co-driver. I went with them for 3 weeks last summer and it was funny. It's always been the 2 of them, and I was the first person to ever share the truck with them. I would lay down in his bunk with the puppy and she would get up and go look at her daddy, as if to say "get her out of our bed". When I would get out and go back up front, she would get back in the bunk.
BW9, are you starting the day or ending it? Good to hear from ya again.

teddy_bear6506 and Les2 Thank this. -
you know I have kind of a funny road story with the dog as well, it was febuary of 07, I was rolling on I-94, I came out of Fargo and hit that first scale in Minnesota, Got red lighted on the scale, its cold, the ground is covered in ice.
The scale man is a really big boy, about 5'8" tall and 450 or so lbs. He comes waddleing out to my truck, ripps the door open and palex comes around from behind my seat up under my legs barking snarling and growling and the scale man slipped and fell, and oh man watching him try to get back to his feet, I couldnt stop myself from laughing.
Had to help him get back up, when I did he says to me all mad "You need to get control of that dog" I told him "No, you need to not go touching what is not yours and the dog wont bother you, he just did what he is suposed to do."
I guess he had had enough because he told me to get out of there and he closed the scale.JustSonny Thanks this. -
